Why FOCUS
Independent by design.
Accountable by process.
FOCUS Health combines clinical leadership, technology and measurable quality practices to deliver reliable independent review.
The model
Six commitments that
shape every review
Clinical independence
Reviewer selection and decision-making are structured to protect objective clinical judgment from commercial pressure in either direction.
Specialty alignment
Cases are matched to qualified clinicians with relevant specialty knowledge, current licensure and genuine experience in the service under review.
Defensible rationales
Reports are written to be clear, evidence-based and responsive to the actual review question, because the losing party reads them closely.
Quality at scale
Technology-enabled controls and human oversight hold consistency as volume moves, which is where most review operations fail.
Transparent reporting
Clients receive operational and quality metrics tailored to their program rather than a summary written for everyone.
Security and compliance
Enterprise controls, certified to the HITRUST CSF, supporting protected health information and regulated review processes.
Flesch-Kincaid
Grade-level readability analysis on every report
Quality checks
Automated rationale validation, every review
Real time
Statistical reporting available to clients live
Accreditation is the floor
What actually separates one IRO from another
URAC accreditation and NAIRO membership qualify an organization to bid. They do not win the bid, because every serious competitor holds them. What health plans actually score during vendor selection is narrower: turnaround against the contractual standard, panel size and specialty breadth, state licensure coverage, annual review volume, and how a determination holds up when it is challenged.
FOCUS competes on those, and on one thing most competitors cannot claim: the review platform is proprietary and HITRUST certified, so workflow, quality control and client visibility are engineering decisions rather than vendor roadmap requests.
